Church Urban Fund

05/04/2006

Grants are awarded to projects tackling poverty and marginalisation in the urban areas of England. The fund aims to benefit people who are socially, culturally, spiritually, environmentally and financially disadvantaged.

The Church Urban Fund is a not for profit organisation working with the Church of England serving the poorest areas in England. We support people working at the local level, who are providing solutions to the effects of poverty.

Although the Fund has its roots in the Christian faith grants are not restricted on the basis of religious beliefs. The Fund welcomes applications from ethnic minority groups and from other faith groups.

Grants are allocated as either capital or revenue funds. They vary from awards of up to £30k to small initiatives providing up to £2k.

Can-Doers in Action

Dyslexic by Nature
The group was created because a number of dyslexic students from Chorlton Workshop were concerned about the lack of help and support for people with dyslexia in the community and the stigma around dyslexia.spacer
